Final Project...

For my final project, I want to experiment with layers in my images. I'd like to either print my images on color paper, and sew parts of them together, and items overlaying others, in that the viewer can lift the item (example: umbrella, or person) up, so look beneath, seeing the individual without the item or person missing, and their reaction to it, as if it were a different scene....or a different timeline. A theme I may want to run with is something similar to "What would I do without ____?" So, the project may LEAN towards individuals relying on something.

Now, I'm debating between using fine matte paper, or maybe missing in some cloth via transferring the images onto, and perhaps either using some as the layer, or what lies beneath the layer.

I may frame the work, but it will be no larger than 6 x 6.

Note to Self.......

*** Make Square Bigger For Hiro’s. That was just…um…yeah, it’s supposed to be Natalie’s hand.

*** Replace Iron and Wine Poster. I don’t need it.

*** Retake the Justin picture. Maybe have him hold something.

*** The narrative concept: Maybe connect them like “Laundry Basket = Clothes, where person sitting on clothes-pile is holding a bookbag = Books on bage three….etc..

*** Concept is murky, but I should decide where I’m going.

Yeahhhh.....

First 4 pt 2

First 4 pt 1

Well here we go. I need to re-adjust the placements of the holes, but ultimately for something with a semi-murky concept it's...um...not that bad at all, in my opinion. Well, maybe a little, who knows. You be the judge.

Now if you'll excuse me, it's 8;16. I'm going to go get 14 minutes of sleep...

Hole Book Concepts...PART ONE!

Alright...a Hole Book.

So clearly I'm going to have holes. I'm stuck between having an actual narrative (something I'd generally enjoy as I...y'know...write), or breaking that and going with a somewhat 'chaotic' thematic. Sounds interesting, at least in my mind. So far, I think of having someone looking into say...a laundry basket, which leads to the next picture, perhaps...two people sitting at a diner table, where one of them is really the hole for the next page, which that itself (3rd page) is a....a....uhh.... I stopped there. But that's not just what I should complete. I should also work out the kinks in pages 1-3. If I'm going to do a random-chaotic thing, I at least have to give it a flow.

...Or maybe I should just stick with some journey-like narration....
*sigh*

The Ten Images

For my 10 images, I would like to focus on the Converse shoe brand. Converse is generally a very popular brand of shoes for people ranging from teens to late-twenties, for the most part. I'd like to attempt the kind of humor one would see in a magazine in regards to advertising shoes, specifically 'matching' people to specific types of colorful shoes. I'd like to keep in the field of speaking of the 12-29 age bracket in who I'm speaking to, but I don't think I necessarily need to narrow into a specific group (i.e. 15-17), although maybe doing something like 'high school' or 'college' would maybe work. I want to work text in with some being very minute, and others quite 'in your face', but not enough to distract you too much.
